Sectionals

First off, big news! BOTH the A AND B teams are going to REGIONALS!!!!!

The first day of sectionals started off with typical Upstate NY spring weather - cold and wet. After four rounds of play the Roses (A team) had finished on top of their pool with four wins over Ithaca College, Syracuse, Colgate and T-horny (Cornell B). T-horny finished third in the pool, with a solid 11-4 win over Colgate.

Then the weather worsened and the second day of sectionals was postponed to the following weekend. Due to this change in plans several of the teams (Ottawa, Skidmore, RPI and Colgate) chose to drop out. Thus T-horny only had to win one game to make regionals. Despite a valiant effort, they were not able to beat Syracuse, barely missing a spot at regionals. The Roses had a rough second day at the tournament in uncharacteristic heat losing to Rochester for the 1st spot at Regionals but beating Ithaca College for the 2nd spot.

But regionals this year are in Edinboro and Ithaca College decided not to attend so T-horny was given the next bid to regionals and THEY ACCEPTED! So, as far as I know, THE FIRST TIME IN CORNELL HISTORY TO HAVE TWO WOMEN'S TEAMS AT REGIONALS!
