The Asian American Playhouse (AAP) is dedicated to providing Asian Americans and the entire Cornell community with opportunities in all aspects of the performing arts: acting, playwriting, directing and stage design. Founded in 1989, Asian American Playhouse is now in its 13th year. AAP is devoted to challenging and combating the traditional casting and stereotyping of Asian Americans on stage and off. Through its productions, AAP strives to encourage open dialogue on the Cornell campus on issues such as race, community and identity.
