The Backgammon Tournament is Coming!
Hello Everyone,

I hope everything is going well this semester. I just wanted to remind
you all that the Fourth Annual Backgammon Tournament is coming up! The
tentative date for the tournament is Saturday, November 19 and possibly
going over to the 20th. If there is anyone who would definitely like to
participate but cannot make it on that day, please email me (Artin
Teymourian) at apt8@cornell.edu. If there is enough objections, we can
reschedule the tournament.

I hope all of you have been practicing over the summer for this!

April 19, 2005
In commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Armenian genocide Armenian
student organization is screening a movie “The Armenians: A Story of
Survival (History Channel Documentary) (2002)”

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006OGSH4/

“This documentary explores the journey and struggle of the Armenia people
- from their humble beginnings near the Middle East where they were
identified only by their different language, through their Christian
conversion in 301; from countless wars to defend their faith, to
domination by numerous empires. And finally from their near elimination
during the first Genocide of the 20th century to the birth of the Armenian
nation.”

The screening will be held at Warren Hall room 145, on April 24th, Sunday,
1pm.
Warren Hall is located at Agriculture quad between Caldwell Hall and
Mann Library.

I want to urge all the members of our organization to attend this event,
because we will be discussing the future of our organization.

2003 > France/Italy/Switzerland/Armenia > Directed by Hiner Saleem
With Romen Avinian, Lala Sarkissian, Ivan Franek
Saleem eloquently weaves a series of absurdly comic vignettes of the sort one can only find in a remote Armenian mountain village. Whimsical images, including one of the roadside liquor stand that gives the film its name, populate this darkly comic meditation on post-Soviet life in Armenia. In Armenian, Russian and Kurdish, with English subtitles. Cosponsored with IES and the Armenian Student Organization.
