Action Against Hunger was founded in 1979 in France to establish a network of organizations to combat hunger worldwide by defining the terrain, developing appropriate strategies, conducting vital field research, and delivering life-saving programs.
Action Against Hunger is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-religious international network of humanitarian organizations with the common goal of eliminating hunger. The ACF International Network, with headquarters in France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada has 6,000 field staff members that combat hunger in over 40 countries. These professionals and technical experts work every day to restore dignity, self-sufficiency, and independence to vulnerable populations around the world. For the last 30 years, Action Against Hunger has been, and continues to, an important provider of relief in response to emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster, and chronic food insecurity.
