The Pep Band is governed by the Pep Band Board, which operates in accordance with our Constitution. All officers serve for the calendar year, with the exception of the conductors. The officers are:
The Pep Band Manager is in charge of scheduling appearances of the Pep Band, keeping track of members' priority points, scheduling road trips and doing all sorts of other administrative things. He is also a member of the staff for the Marching Band. The current Pep Band Manager is Lauren Forconi '06.
Each semester the Pep Band elects two conductors. Their role is to run rehearsals, select music during events, and wave their arms wildly so that we might all stay together as we play. The conductor is a position of great respect and dignity (yeah, right) and is often the focus through which the Pep Band's craziness eminates from. The Spring 2005 conductors are Nathan Olsen '05 and Matt Tucker '07.
The treasurer is responsible for all Pep Band finances. That's it, just that. The current treasurer is Maggie Rich '07.
The Librarian copies music as necessary and keeps track of the Pep Band folders so that they don't disappear. The current librarians are Liz Gall '07 and Craig Smith '07.
The Secretary takes minutes at all Pep Band Board meetings, organizes a membership drive at the beginning of each semester, and is reponsible for publicizing Pep Band events. This may include, but is not limited to, placing Cornell Daily Sun ads and electronic mail. The current Secretary is Maren MacIntyre '08.
The Historian is reponsible for taking pictures at Pep Band events and maintaining a file of photographs. The Historian also collects and saves relevant newspaper articles, letters, and other items of interest for the scrapbook. The current Historian is Jason Endriss '08
The Equipment Manager is responsible for all equipment repairs, the upkeep of instruments, and keeping a store of reeds and other such accessories. The Equipment Manager is Andy Poshadel '08.
