Naveen is a senior in the school of hotel administration at
Cornell. He has had a broad range of experience in and out of the
traditional hospitality field. Having worked in a restaurant, hotel,
amusement park and NGO in Morocco, Naveen developed experiences that
positioned him well to take on many challenges at Cornell
University. At the hotel school, Naveen is president of its honors
society, Ye Hosts. He has also been a teaching assistant for finance
and managerial accounting. Outside the hotel school, he is the vice
president of the Society for India. He is also the managing director
of CHC Hospitality Consultants, a student-run hospitality
consultancy (www.solutionsforhospitality.com).His
passion on campus, however, lies with CAPSU. He is working to make
the network among Asian students on campus stronger and more
long-lived than it has ever been.

During his summer of 2007, Naveen completed work as a summer intern in the Investment Banking Global Technology Group at UBS. There, he aided management of a company develop its S-1 filing for an IPO. Naveen is from the sleepy town of Shavertown, Pennsylvania. He prides himself on being a resident of NEPA and thoroughly enjoys taking breaks from the rigor of school and New York City there.
Now in his fourth year at Cornell, Jon has had a wealth of experience in increasing Asian-American cultural awareness on campus. Before becoming the Public Relations Chair of CAPSU, he served in various leadership roles within his Asian-interest cultural fraternity, Pi Delta Psi Inc., namely as its President and Cultural Chair. After participating in CAPSU for the first time last year, Jon now hopes to play a much more active role in helping the organization become more involved in all aspects of the Asian-American community.
Outside of CAPSU and PDPsi, Jon is just your ordinary Cornell engineer, majoring in Materials Science & Engineering, and he hopes to move on to the Biomedical Engineering Masters of Engineering program at Cornell once he graduates. Jon spent the summer of 2007 at Cornell taking classes and doing some preliminary work on his senior thesis, which will be on tissue engineering. In his spare time, Jon enjoys playing games, reading, recreational shooting, and of course, sleeping. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, he is always eager to meet those from the SoCal area and to reminisce about In-N-Out burgers.

Sheryl Soh is a 2nd year hotel school international student from Singapore, and has a burning desire to see the world. Her fervent passion for volunteering has brought her to Thailand and India on community service trips, and will be embarking on a 3rd trip to Nicaragua in winter 07. The community service projects in Thailand and India have made her realize the importance of empowering children all over the world, and the immense potential these future leaders can have on our societies given the opportunity to do so.
During her internship in summer 06, Sheryl was attached to Research and Statistics in the Corporate Planning Division of Singapore Tourism Board. She was involved in analyzing competitive tourism statistics, research on hotel room rates and natural occupancy rate, global ecotourism trends as well as tourism forecasting methods. She is especially interested in exploring ecotourism as a tool for sustainable development.
Other than being the secretary in CAPSU, she holds the same position for the Singapore Students Association (SSA) and Hotelies Serving Society (HS2). Sheryl hopes to continue serving the Asian community here at Cornell through events, support and networking.
