Minutes-- Cornell Coalition for the Homeless
April 8, 2001
I. Sleepout
A. Food
1)solicit donations from Collegetown
Bagels and
Wendy's. Rose McGrady
will ask Short Stop for sandwich
donations.
B. Day of Service
1)expect around 20~25 volunteers. Break
up into
groups.
C. Speakers
1)Speakers at the Sleepout- we don't
have a definit
list of speakers yet.
Rose McGrady suggested potential
speaker Fran Matisti for
coordinate panel.
2)Rose will invite homeless speakers.
D. Publicity:
1)Advertising Tradition- will send out
an email to
Tradition listserve.
Jesse will look into the
listserve.
2)Posters- new or old? majority
thinks we should come
up with a new poster.
3)Chalking- Mike will coordinate chalking.
Will have
a meeting on Monday 4/16
for chalking.
4)Transparencies- Mike said he will
make some quick
ones, and drop them in the
mailbox at Annable Talyor.
However, Jesse and David
will take care of the
transparencies.
5) banner for coalition for the homeless
and/or
sleepout.
E. Transportation:
1) Public Service van not available
on 4/21. Jesse
will email members w/ cars.
II. Other stuff:
A) make "thought" blanket during the sleepout.
B) Use email and make phone calls to get volunteers
for
sleepout.
C) Wegmen's- Lisa is in charge of this. Will
make
flyers. Still needs
to talk to the managers at
Wegmen's. Christine
will drive the volunteers to
Wegmen's. Time will be from
11:00~3:00.
D) Rose asked about our progress with Spring
Luncheon
Celebration. Everything
is going well with this. Food
will be delievered to the
Red Cross on Saturday morning.
E) Next group meeting is on Monday 4/16.
It will be a
dinner discussion type meeting.
Eric suggests that we
should get pizza donated.
F) Officer's meeting
Tomorrow @ 9:00pm at Annable
Talyor
(fancy room).
