Thank you to all of those who helped with The Visible Hand, our undergraduate research journal. We will be having a release party for the journal this week. Please come to grab a copy of the journal and hear writers present their articles. Also, we would appreciate any help with the distribution of the journal across campus.




A Business Affair: Mocktail Social

CES is co-sponsoring the "A BUSINESS AFFAIR" social event hosted by 85 Broads. Active CES members (those who have attended and signed in to at least one event this semester) will qualify for reduced admissions.

General Body Meeting

We will hold a presentation with a representative from Kaplan on how do advance your economics major after you graduate. We will discuss going to graduate school, getting a MBA, and taking the GRE/GMAT.




General Body Meeting: Discussion with Professor Jennifer Wissink

At this meeting you will be brought up to date on current economics events. Also, Professor Jennifer Wissink of the Economics Department will discuss the Economics and related majors (AEM, ILR, Hotel). She will be able to answer questions regarding the application procedure to the major and discuss some courses in the major. Refreshments will be served.




General Body Meeting

At this meeting you will be brought up to date on current economics events, and we will have a presentation on resume and cover letter writing tips. Please bring your resumes if you would like an officer to look it over with you. Also, we will have a senior panel, including our previous CES President, Elizabeth Patrun, speak about her experiences with the economics major. She will be available to answer any major or career related questions members may have.

The Economics Society will be hosting Mr. Cornelius Hofman for a lecture and informal meeting on Friday, November 21st. Mr. Hofman owns his own economic consulting business (www.thegecgroup.com) and is willing to meet with CES members to discuss topics including: practical applications of economics and finance (case studies), forensic economics, SB-2 offerings, impact of education on human capital, valuation of non-market good/services.
