Welcome to the Cornell Figure Skating Club's Website!
The Cornell Figure Skating Club encourages skaters of all levels to participate in both competitive and recreational events, allowing them to continue skating through college and remaining competitive.
The team aspect of collegiate competitions introduces a dynamic element that is missing in the world of amateur figure skating-- by competing in individual equally-weighted events (including freestyle, dance, and team maneuvers) collegiate skaters earn points for their school. This is the first opportunity many skaters have to be part of a team.
In its 14th year, the team is well-known in the Eastern Conference, as well as on the national level. Consistently placing among the top teams in the Eastern conference, Cornell won the National Intercollegiate title in Denver, Colorado in 2003. Recently, Cornell placed 5th out of 10 teams at the 2008 Intercollegiate Nationals held in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our goals are to continue to place strongly in the Eastern Conference and qualify for Nationals.
