The First Annual Africa Week took place on Cornell University’s campus during the week of March 7th – 12th 2005. During that week, various organizations, scholars, vendors, and artists from Africa and the Diaspora united to celebrate the diversity and splendor of African peoples, cultures, and forms. Complete with an Independence Day Dinner & Dance, a Global Fair, Film Festival, Keynote Presentations and Fashion Shows, Africa week proved to be a spectacular event for all.
Though hosted by the Coalition of pan-African Scholars, Africa Week was a huge collaboration of numerous organizations and departments within and outside Cornell. We thank you for partaking in history in the making.
