Statement of Philosophy

It is our firm conviction that new ideas and perspectives are the offspring of debate. The Cornell Political Forum provides a respectable arena for informed discussion. We believe that informed thought and discourse are the keys to education and to understanding others.
The publishers treat all articles equally, with no regard to ideology. Indeed, it is hoped that differing views on a subject will be submitted and resubmitted during the course of an extended debate. We ask only that articles be structured and reinforced with verifiable facts.
The activities of the Cornell Political Forum extend beyond that of a journal of intellectual debate. The Forum seeks to enrich the community through a broad range of pursuits. This includes sponsoring political lectures, debates, and free speech fora.
The Forum seeks opinions beyond the Cornell campus. The Forum distributes to as many American and international campuses as finances and prudence permit. Also using the benefit of the Internet, it is the intention of the Forum to provide a global arena for debate. Such a project brings forth a rich collection of ideas from many cultures, providing the world leaders of tomorrow a chance to communicate with each other today.
