CUDA -- Cornell Union of Disability Awareness

Cornell Union for
Disabilities Awareness
We will accommodate all members

MISSION
CUDA is an awareness and activism union between people with disabilities and able members of the Cornell community. Our goal is to be a source of support for students, faculty and staff at Cornell by acting as a liaison between the disabled community and the greater Cornell administration. Additionally, CUDA hopes to serve the campus community as voice for disabilities issues here on campus. Our mission is to bring a greater awareness to our peers and community about what exactly it means to be disabled with the hope of working to abate the stigma attached to disabilities.

ACTIONS
To accomplish our mission statement, the members of CUDA believe that constant education and conversation is a vital first step. Because we value the power of discussion so highly, CUDA meets weekly to facilitate debate about current issues in the disabilities movement. In addition, we strive to encourage education and conversation around campus by organizing a variety of public events open to the entire campus community throughout the semester. Upcoming programs this semester will include a cross-fire debate, a panel discussion featuring students, staff and faculty from around campus, hosting a variety of speakers to share their areas of expertise, and several movie and discussion nights.
