National Collegiate Chapter of the Year - This award was also given to Mu Gamma at our 48th National Convention. It is an extremely impressive distinction as it recognizes the magnificence of our chapter out of over 400 collegiate chapters.

Ujamaa Awards Ceremony - The Ujamaa Awards are very important to the chapter because they are determined by majority vote of the community.
- Outstanding Service to the Community Award - This award recognizes the chapter(s) at Cornell University that has significantly impacted the community through hands-on service and/or significant philanthropy (fundraising) to the community. The Chapter received this award for the fifth year in a row from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. Top

SEE Collegiate Connection Award - This award came from the Science and Everyday Experience (SEE) Program, which is a subset of the Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) for doing a SEE event during the last sorority year based upon entry in the SEE On-line Reflection Form.

H. Elsie Austin Award - Named after the eigth National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., this award recognizes the chapter in the Eastern Region that has the best chapter archives. This award was given to the Mu Gamma Chapter at the Eastern Regional Conference of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., on August 12, 2005 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Outstanding Service to the Community Award - This award recognizes the chapter(s) at Cornell University that has significantly impacted the community through hands-on service and/or significant philanthropy (fundraising) to the community. Mu Gamma Chapter received this award from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, on April 17, 2005, at the annual Awards Banquet.

Outstanding Chapter Officer - This award recognizes outstanding Greek men and women for their continued leadership and service to their chapter and PA, IFC, or MGLC. The dedicated individuals who receive this award help to further develop Greek Life and to ensure the betterment of the Greek system. This year's recipient was Soror Renee Woodburn '06.

A.D. White Faculty/Administrator of the Year Award - This award was established to honor members of the staff, faculty, or administration in recognition of his or her dedication to the betterment of student life at Cornell. This award was named in memory of A. D. White, a member of both Alpha Sigma Phi and Sigma Phi fraternities. This year's recipient was Chapter Advisor Stephanie Adams. Top

Best Educational Program - The Chapter received this award at the first annual Ujamaa Awards Ceremony held on May 2, 2004. The program of distinction was the Unity Hour held on Female Circumcision held on October 19, 2003.

Group/Organization of the Year - This award was also given to the chapter at the Ujamaa Awards Ceremony, for its continued efforts in the community.

Outstanding Chapter Award - At the OFSA End of Year Awards Banquet held on April 25th, 2004, Mu Gamma received the coveted "Outstanding Chapter Award." This monetary award recognizes the chapters that have done an outstanding job in implementing each component of The Strategic Plan, which are: self-governance, social responsibility, facilities and financial management, perceptions, membership development, leadership development, and review and assessment.

Distinguished Alumne/ae Service Award - This award recognizes loyal and dedicated members of the Cornell Greek community. Throughout the years there are alumni who have rendered distinguished service to the Greek system and to the University. This award was given to Soror Malinda B. Smith (Co-Advisor for Mu Gamma) at the End of Year Awards Banquet on April 25th, 2004.

Highest GPA Distinction - The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs announced September 2003, that the ladies of the Mu Gamma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., had the highest grade point average out of all of the sororities on campus for the spring semester of 2003 (3.63). This is the first time that an organization from the Multi-Cultural Greek Letter Council has received this distinction.
