Campus Mail: Risley Theatre, Risley Hall Contact: risleytheatre@cornell.edu Web Site: http://www.rso.cornell.edu/risleytheatre/ Listserv: risleytheatre-l@cornell.edu (owner) How to get involved: Risley Theatre is run by Theatre Sub, which meets at 6pm on Sundays in Risley Hall's Central Living Room. Anyone may attend these meetings. Risley Theatre tends to put on 2 to 5 shows a semester, all of which have open auditions and a wide call for designers and crew. Play proposals are held once or twice a semester, and anyone who wishes to direct a show may propose. Other Information: Risley Theatre, an 81-seat black box, is Cornell's only student-run theatre. Participation in Risley Theatre is open to anyone in the Ithaca community. Each season is unique, with a variety of offerings which have in the past included (but were not limited to) traditional plays, experimental productions, dance concerts, poetry readings, and other special performance events. Historically, Risley Theatre has been a haven for the weird, unusual, and/or uncategorizable production, side by side with more traditional offerings. |
