Events and Announcements

GK Members:

Below is a whole list of information regarding end of the semester events.  Please carefully review it.

1. For Juniors/Seniors: Anyone who has not received their induction certificate will have the opportunity to pick it up during office hours over the next week.

2. For Juniors/Seniors: Anyone who has been collecting school supplies for our JUMPSTART Program can bring the supplies to office hours and receive points for their effort!

3. For Seniors: Any senior who has earned over 10 points will have the opportunity to purchase their honor cord for $10.00 (CASH ONLY) at office hours.  For seniors who earned over 20 points they will receive a 50% discount and pay $5.00 (CASH ONLY).

4. For Seniors: Medallions and Plaques have been ordered and will be ready for pick-up prior to the Commencement Ceremony.  Please look out for another email with details regarding how to pick up these items. 

Office Hours will be held in Stimson Hall (next to Day Hall along East Ave.) in the Biology Learning Strategies Center (STIMSON HALL G24).  Signs should be posted for your convenience to locate the office.  They will be held on the following days at the following times:

Wednesday, May 7th            10am - 4pm
Thursday, May 8th            1pm - 4pm
Friday, May 9th             10am - 4pm
Monday, May 12th            10am - 4pm
Tuesday, May 13th            10am - 2pm

To all our members:

We would like to make a special point of thanking those volunteers who came out to the PALS Philanthropy event. The event was a huge success and raised $2,275 toward the new water tank system for the school in Africa. We were extremely pleased to work in conjunction with one of our honorary members. It seemed that both our volunteer group as well as all the local families who came out to enjoy the carnival had a wonderful time. Thanks again for all your help.

We would like to congratulate Andrea Shamaskin and Meredith Odato, the winners of the Golden Key Cornell Chapter Scholarship for this semester!

Their outstanding dedication to service in the community and active involvement in Golden Key have earned them this scholarship. We hope they continue with their impressive volunteer efforts and participation with GK in the future.

Earn some extra points easily!

Our chapter of Golden Key is working hard to collect school supplies and brochures about Cornell to give to under-privileged middle school children. If you help to meet our goals then you will earn points. Any materials you collect can be handed in during certificate distribution in the last week of classes or during study week. Below is the point scheme for the JUMPSTART Program:

50 pens/pencils = 1 point
10 1-subject spiral notebooks OR 10 composition notebooks = 2 points
25 two-pocket folders = 2 points
5 geometry tools (i.e. ruler, protractor, or compass) = 1 point
50 Cornell Brochures from Admissions, Career Services, Registrar, etc. = 2 points
