Simply Live

"Live simply, so that others may simply live." - Mahatma Ghandi

Our main campaign, Simply Live, is a student education campaign focusing on the three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and consumer buying. We are tabling in Willard Straight weekly and also plan on tabling in RPCC. Every few weeks, we will have a new pamphlet about a different subject - organic foods, buying locally, reducing, and recycling, to name a few. Along with handing out information, we are also handing out free stuff from ecologically-friendly companies (Clif Bars, Patagonia t-shirts!) and having people take an Ecological Footprint Quiz. If you're interested, e-mail us or stop by when we're tabling!

LEEDs

The Greens have worked hard to convince Cornell to have its new buildings LEEDs certified, a sign that they have a certain level of environmental friendliness. Recently, Cornell decided that its new Life Sciences building, the most costly building it has ever built, will be LEEDs silver certified!

Battery Recycling

We have just begun looking at the possibility of starting battery recycling programs in the dorms. We are hoping to put boxes in the dorms where people can drop off their batteries so they can be recycled or properly disposed of.
