There's a lot of stuff missing - things I don't remember or just have no record of. I'm slowly adding events as I remember them....

An Evening With Kip Fulbeck
Are you really stressed out and desperate for rejuvenation? Are you looking for something to do on Saturday night before you hit the C-town strip?? Are you interested in meeting some fellow students in a casual setting??? Then come out to see what renowned entertainer KIP FULBECK can offer you at Hapa Club's event of the semester: "An Evening With Kip Fulbeck" 7pm, this Saturday, December 7th at H.E.C. Auditorium in Goldwin Smith Hall
April 12-14, 2002
In cooperation with BLEND, we hosted the Sixth Annual Pan-Collegiate Conference on the Mixed Race here at Cornell. Chris, Toby, Lauren, Krista, and many others lost sleep and sanity to produce one of the best conferences the mixed-race community has ever seen. If you're interested, check out the old conference website.
March 28, 2002
Cornell Hapa, BLEND, and the Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation held a bone marrow donor registration drive. The drive is part of MAVIN Foundation's MatchMaker program.

We're meeting for the first time this semester in the Willard Straight
Hall International Lounge at 5pm on Tuesday, January 29.
The club has a lot cooking this semester (most notably, we're hosting the
Pan-Collegiate Conference on the Mixed-Race
Experience, among other fun events) so there'll be plenty to do.
If you've ever been interested in the club, come to a meeting in the past,
or wanted to come to a meeting, this would be the time to do it! See you
there! -chris

How are you? Isn't Fall break such a tease?! I hope
you enjoyed your time at home or visiting friends or
here or wherever you were this past weekend......
I know this is probably a hectic week for most of you,
or else you're having some difficulty getting back into
things, so I am moving the movie that was scheduled for
this evening to next Tuesday. Our next meeting is
Tuesday at 6PM in the International Lounge; we will
watch the movie then.
September 26, 2001
We'll be introducing the officers, letting you know about things to look
forward to and then breaking of into groups for the following committees:
Publicity, "Other" (our literary magazine), Speaker Contact Committee,
Conference Planning Committee, and the Social Committee.
So remember our next meeting: Wednesday 9/26 5:30P WSH Loft III (Just take the stairs that lead to Ivy room all the way UP..and just keep walking up and you'll see signs to Loft III)

or offer. So come and have tons of fun! (Friends are always welcome
too!)

We were going to do it by a lake or something while the weather's still
warm but then we realized: this is ITHACA, so since it may be cold we're
all heading to Liane's house in lovely Collegetown instead. She's got a
grill and a backyard if it's warm enough though. Her address is
204 Linden Ave. That is (from central campus):
Also PLEASE RSVP SARA LEON sl243@cornell.edu and let her know if you're coming. We're doing potluck this time, so she's coordinating food. New members don't need to bring anything if you don't want to, so don't worry! See you there!

Hapa Student Association Mixer, RPCC, Tuesday
Do people often ask you "What are you?" Are you "mixed" or interested in the multi-racial experience? Come to the Hapa club, named after the Hawaiian word for part/mixed blood. We'll be discussing multi-ethnic issues, eating mixed-up food, and having just plain mixed-up fun. All are welcome! Robert Purcell Community Center, Multipurpose Room. If you're new and interested, be sure to drop by! Everyone really is welcome, so don't worry about not knowing anyone. If you're already a member, come down and make the new frosh Hapas feel welcome.
August 27, 2001
CAPSU picnic, Balch Lawn, Monday
We'll be at the CAPSU picnic on August 27th (Monday) from 12:30-3:30pm, on Balch Lawn. This is basically an information tabling session for all the CAPSU member organizations -- that is, all the Asian groups on campus. Our group is a member of CAPSU because some of our members are Asian. Drop and say hello, and don't forget to get an info card and a lollipop...
May 2-3, 2001
SAVE A LIFE! Minority Bone Marrow Drive, May 2-3, 2001, WSH. The Cornell Hapa Student Association and the Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation will be holding at bone marrow donor registration drive this week.
April 24, 2001
The conference last weekend was great! I don't want to
sound sappy, but it was just such an overwhelming experience that I'm not
exactly sure how to describe it. Everyone came home a little changed from
it, and we've got a bunch of ideas for next semester to make everything,
well, better.
Those of us who went will be briefing the rest of the group about the conference and what kind of things were discussed, etc. We'll also have MEMBERSHIP CARDS and Mavin magazine (get'em together for $2) again if you missed your chance last week. Plus we'll be setting up things like: an event next semester for orientation week, end-of-semester "study break" / Hapa BBQ, bone marrow drive (possibly May 2/3), new officer positions for next year, and much much more. Loft III is up the stairs in WSH. Just keep climbing stairs, you'll see the signs.
April 21-22, 2001
The 5th Pan-Collegiate Conference on the Mixed Race Experience, April 21-22, 2001, Harvard University
"On April 20-22, 2001, hundreds of mixed race students, families, and faculty from throughout the world will converge at Harvard University for a three-day conference celebrating the mixed race experience and also to educate each other about the history, health, and political issues concerning people of mixed race. The conference is being organized and hosted by Harvard University's Half-Asian Person's Association (HAPA)." We're hoping to send a bunch of people to this conference hosted by Harvard HAPA. Here's the official site for the conference. Their conference last year (co-run by the MAVIN foundation) was a big success and made the newspapers, Newsweek, etc.

"I make some messed up mixed Asian/American food, and so far, I'm the only
one I know except some people in my family that like it. I'm sure other
mixed half-asians would have many other weird and exotic recepies to share
with people with uniquely accepting taste buds." --Sayuri.
Cook some food and bring it to Andre's house (click here for directions/map) for crazy Hapa food goodness! RSVP by email to committee chairperson Sayuri to let us know you're coming, and if you're cooking. Also, if you need a kitchen, we can hook you up with one. The fracas is set for 5pm Saturday night, the idea being it's early enough so that you can still go out later Saturday night, with food in your belly and warm Hapa-club thoughts in your head.

This week we're going to try the discussion meeting! It will be open and
fun and thought provoking - maybe a bit silly? Regardless, it is just a
time to get together and talk about what brings us together, the things we
wonder about, who we are or aren't - it's up to us. Here are some topics
that we came up with:
March 12, 2001
It's not in the international room this time, instead, go up the stairs
next to the art gallery until you see signs for "Loft III." We're
going to be watching "Banana Split," Kip Fulbeck's 37-minute movie
about being mixed, then we'll talk about it. Refreshments too!
We'll also be planning going to the conference and make preliminary plans for Ellan's discussion meeting next week.
February 27, 2001
Our very first meeting will be held Tuesday, February 27, 6pm in the WSH International Lounge. Everyone who's interested should definitely come to this one! On the agenda are fun icebreakers, getting to know everyone, and planning events for the rest of the semester. So come and see who we are, who's interested, and where we want to go with this club. Email me if you have any ideas for icebreaker activities and stuff we should talk about/do for the first meeting.
