February 29: Deadline for Multimedia Proposals
March 1 - April 6: Play Rehearsals (Sats and Suns)
April 5: Dress Rehearsal 1
April 11: Dress Rehearsal 2 + Hong Kong Cultural Show!
TBA: Dance Auditions / Rehearsals

As you can see, the Cultural Show is coming up really soon! It may at first seem like a long time away, but preparation takes a lot of time. Please join us early on; we need you! There will definitely be a place for you that suits your wants and desires.

Here is a broad overview of the overarching groups that Cultural Show preparation is split up into:

  • Publicity & Publications
  • Decorations

Drama - skits

  • There will be two skits around 10 minutes each
  • We are welcoming everyone: from the protagonist(s) to all the less significant roles!
  • Auditions for roles start Friday, February 22, 5pm (to be confirmed)

Drama - backstage

  • People in backstage will be in charge of coordinating one or more of the following during the show:
    • Lighting
    • Sound
    • Costume
    • Props
    • Backstage

Band

  • We are looking for a bass and keyboard player
  • Songs to be played (to be confirmed):

Dance

  • An All Boys Dance choreographed by Mark Law
  • An All Girls Dance choreographed by Zoe Chow
  • Coed Dance choreographed by Selina Cheung

Singing

  • Four Heavenly Kings Medley, featuring songs by Aaron Kwok, Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung & Andy Lau
  • Tell us what you want to sing! Or any other kind of performance e.g. magic / rap / hip hop

Multimedia

  • We need 3-4 movies and 2-3 commercials
  • We are looking for directors for both movies and commercials
    • You get to choose your own plot. This can be anything - documentary / music video / anything!
    • Please submit your ideas to the Multimedia Heads (jjc82, cw334)
    • Deadline for submission is Friday, February 29, 2008
  • Those looking to be actors/actresses, we will contact you if directors are looking for more cast!

Publicity

  • We are looking for anyone who wants to take part in or making any of the following
    • Posters
    • Flyers
    • Tickets
    • Banners
    • Chalking
    • Reception
    • Catering

Decorations

  • If you would like to help decorating around the venue near the day of the performance, you are welcome to join the decorations group
  • Any ideas on decorating are welcome - give us ideas!
