Welcome back to Ithaca and HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!

ATTENTION ALL FRESHMEN AND TRANSFER STUDENTS:

Apply to be a New Student Representative and step up your involvement in HKSA! In this position, you will have the chance to organize events throughout the year and get to know more people within HKSA.

Applications are due by Tuesday, 9/13, at 9pm. Voting begins at approximately 12am on Wednesday, 9/14, and ends at 10pm on Thursday, 9/15. Winners will be announced shortly after.

**Winners will be able to attend the next Exco meeting on Friday, 9/16, at 6:30pm

Requirements: This must be your first year at Cornell.

The Hong Kong Student Association proudly presents our 2011 Cultural Show, The East Side Story. This year’s show tells a tale between two warring restaurants, each of whom claim to be the best Chinese eatery in Collegetown. Amidst the battle between the owners, a love story blossoms between the son of one restaurant and the daughter of the other. As the story takes us through an angry Cornell professor, a fashion show, an epic food battle, and a fatal accident, what will become of the hatred between the restaurant and the Romeo and Juliet affair? Come find out onSaturday, April 16th , 8pm at the Anabel Taylor Auditorium!

The show features drama, live music performances, dance, exciting videos (including a Cantonese tutorial), fashion show and much more!

Dear HKSA-ers,

As the spring semester begins, it's time to start off our preparation for the HKSA Cultural Show! This year, our main drama plot is going to be about two rivalry restaurants. Our Cultural show has always been an extremely fun event to participate in. It's a chance to really get to know not only other Hong Kong students on campus, but also a myriad group of people with different backgrounds interested in the HK culture. I strongly urge all of you out there to help out in the event! You will definitely miss out an important part of college if you don't!

We'll have a Cultural Show Info Session for those of you who are interested in participating. Details as below:

Also, we have an open position for Event Coordinator in the board for the spring semester. Those of you interested can email your application to me (bt98@cornell.edu). The application will be due one week from now, on Sunday, February 6th. Event coordinators will be responsible for organizing and delegating tasks at any events that happen during the year.
