Welcome to the Islamic Alliance for Justice at Cornell.

The Islamic Alliance for Justice (IAJ) is a predominantly Muslim student organization that aims to raise awareness and mobilize and coordinate effective response to local, national and global issues of political, economic and social justice. The Cornell University chapter is the second at a US campus, with others at George Washington University and the University of Texas at Austin.

On Thursday, April 27th, the Student Assembly will discuss and vote upon Resolution 29. The resolution urges national leaders to support initiatives to put further pressure on Iran to cease its pursuit of nuclear weapons and sponsor of terrorist organizations. It also resolves that “the SA will support future campus endeavors denouncing Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons.”

We, the undersigned, urge members of the Student Assembly to vote against this resolution because:
1 - It criminalizes and alienates members of the Cornell community.
2 - The views presented in the resolution are by no means universally held by the Cornell student body.
3 - International political issues such as these are not within the scope of the Cornell University Student Assembly charter or purpose.
