NEW YORK STATE CLIMATE SUMMIT

November 16th-18th, 2007

Cornell University

Ithaca, New York

The New York State Climate Summit will unite campus and community organizations in 1) training youth and active adults to run effective campus and community campaigns around the issue of global warming, and 2) agree on a state-wide strategy to pass legislation sitting in Albany that will mandate that New York reduces its greenhouse gas emissions 80% below 2005 levels by 2050. With these two goals in mind, we will energize campus and community campaigns for local victories around the state and then follow a course of action that will get aggressive legislation passed in Albany. This, in turn, will send a strong signal to Washington, D.C. about what it needs to do to fight this urgent issue.
