My name is Emily Feliberty and I’m a junior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I’m an Applied Economics and Management major with specializations in both Food Industry Management and Marketing. I also have a minor in Latino Studies.

I joined Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. on April 12, 2008 as Hermana HaliK’agê. Joining a Sorority was not something that I ever imagined I would do mostly because of the media’s negative portrayal of Greek life. As I met the Hermanas of Lambda Pi Chi and began to learn more about what ideals brought them together, my opinions quickly changed. Not only were they a group of women that I could be with in a social environment, but they were intelligent, professional, motivated women who were always there for each other and supported me in all aspects of my life. It is still clear to me that we are united for the purposes of promoting a better community, and empowering all women. The genuine bond that we share can not be replicated, and for this, I am so proud to call myself an Hermana of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Incorporated.
