Hi, my name is Karen Pyne and I crossed into La Hemandad on April 12 th, 2008. I am double majoring in English and Sociology, and I hope to go into human resources or marketing upon graduation. I was born in the Bronx but am currently residing in Yonkers with my family. My mother is Puerto Rican and my dad is Irish, and I am very proud of both of my heritages. I have four beautiful sisters, and I am the middle child.

I became interested in Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Incorporated in the Spring of my sophomore year, when I met some womyn who changed my entire perspective on Greek life. They were proud womyn, not just of the Sorority, but also of themselves as individuals. In addition, the bonds that they had with each other were truly genuine, and I could feel the Hermandad they had with one another. Ever since then I wanted nothing more than to be a part of that special bond. I am now honored to say that I belong to the legacy of proud and inspirational womyn of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Incorporated.
