I’m Mayra Mora and I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. I also consider my self Ecuadorian since my parents are from Ecuador. I am in the College of Arts and Science planning on a Psychology major. Since I was in High School I knew that I wanted to join a Latina-based Sorority. I was fortunate enough to know that these organizations existed and therefore was able to do my research. Once here at Cornell I had to observe how the organizations here fulfilled the research that I had done.

I found that Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. was the one for me. I liked the bonds that I saw between the womyn in the organization and I wanted to be part of that. On November 17th 2006 I became an Hermana along with two other womyn. I have found the Hermandad that I was looking for and look forward to continue building on it.
