Pre-Professional Association
Toward Careers in Health (PATCH)
Mentorship Program Information
Mission
PATCH Mentorship program seeks to foster a
smoother transition for incoming pre-health students at
Cornell, focusing on social well-being. Mentors' roles
will include introducing new students to available
social resources, acclimating students to different
campus organizations and activities, and acting as a
peer support and encouragement network.

Program Details
Our goals for the coming semester include:
organizing various volunteer events in the community for
mentors and mentees, planning social events for mentors
and mentees, and conducting periodic meetings to ensure
that the mentors and mentees are getting the most out of
the experience. Otherwise, it is the mentor's
responsibility to initiate meetings (e.g. for lunch) and
communication (e.g. via e-mail or phone), thus ensuring
that his/her mentee is transitioning in a healthy and
enjoyable manner. We hope that mentors will embrace this
opportunity to build strong, meaningful relationships
with their mentees that will last throughout their whole
time at Cornell.
The PATCH mentorship program is a great way
for incoming freshmen and transfer to develop a strong
peer support system with Cornell's upperclassmen
students. We hope to guide them with ways to relieve
pressure and anxiety of assuming a pre-med/pre-health
curriculum, and help them foster smooth transitions to a
new environment. Furthermore, it will be a great way to
make friends and get great advice!
Thank you for
your interest in the PATCH mentorship
program!
