Representation at ROSE General Meetings

At least one member of each ensemble should attend each ROSE general meeting, which occurs once a month.

Music Requests

CU ROSE purchases some music each semester by applying for SAFC funding. If you assemble an ensemble early enough in the semester, you can add music to CU ROSE's request list. To request funding for a certain piece, acquire a price quote (website or invoice) and contact the ROSE librarian officer.

Ensembles typically perform with some combination of the following: ROSE music; personally-purchased music; personal arrangements; Cornell library music; music acquired through InterLibrary Loan.

For assistance, contact the ROSE librarian officer.

Music Copying

When copies are made to protect the original, all copying must conform to international copyright law. If the original is a university library item, the copy must be destroyed when the original leaves your group's possession. If the original is a ROSE item, the copy must be returned to the ROSE librarian after your last performance of the semester.

Progress Check

This is a fairly informal meeting at which the ensemble performs its works with officers and advisor present. Here, the works do not have to be at performance-level necessarily; the group just needs to demonstrate that they have made enough progress to be ready in time for the concert. The officers and advisor may either approve the ensemble for performance or recommend a Follow-Up Check.
