  • December 11, 2004 - What is shiny, silveryish, fun, makes sparks, and draws people's attention? Guns! Mark, instructor of the handguns PE course, gives RoSI a hands-on workshop on firearms. He showed us the three layers of safety and how to load and fire pistols, revolvers, and a rifle.
  • November 12, 2004 - RoSI meets C4, the Cornell Challenge Course Club. We attacked the CatWalk element with sticks of mighty might!

  • October 8-12, 2004 - Fall Break Trip to Michigan
    • Day 1: Book Sale in downtown Ithaca and then boarded the train at Syracuse. We found the train station without getting killed in the sketchier parts of town. Yay!
    • Day 2: We met Zac, Liz, Pandora, and Apop. RoSI helped out at birthday party gig for fourteen 9 year old boys that was filled with flashing blades and fire breathing. We finished the night with a viewing of The Court Jester.
    • Day 3: Awesome 3 hr. practice with the core RoS group: footwork, death drill (for a good 45 min.), and fleche drill, and lunge rack followed by an hour or so working with Maestro on improving technique. Then Laura and Elaine performed Single Rapier for Maestro and a few other the high ranking Ringers. The fight was followed by a ride in the official Ring Van! Maestro had lunch with us. Later that day we watched Fierce Creatures.
    • Day 4: Trip to downtown Ann Arbor where we discovered the wonder that is Zingerman's.
    • Day 5: ::Sigh:: Train back to Ithaca... at least we finished the break with a viewing of A Fish Called Wanda at Robin Hill.
Special thanks to Diane for making this trip even greater!
  • August 29, 2004 - Welcome Weekend's Student Street Fair was a great way to tell people about us and to recruit new members.
