Cornell Wins Kennedy Cup, June 1969

The dark-tarnished cup had lain in obscurity, before it was retrieved by Charley Williamson from the Cornell Rowing Boathouse. It had been used for decades to hold golf balls that were used as lane selectors in rowing competitions! Shown here is the beautifully polished silver cup, originally held by Wayne Biddle in June 1969 at the Kennedy Cup competition. |
Reunited with the Kennedy Cup, Wayne Biddle stands proudly at the Merrill Sailing Center dedication, May 9, 2009. |
