Getting Involved
with the Cornell Savoyards
| Are you interested in getting involved with the Cornell Savoyards? We need people in a wide variety of capacities! It's easy to get involved and we're always happy to have additional people join us. Some people help us out for one show -- while others find themselves irresistably drawn to the warm Savoy-feelings of doing our productions and remain active members for many years. Feel free to browse this page to find out just some of the ways to join the Cornell Savoyards family. |

Auditions for Onstage Roles
Auditions for the spring production are usually held in late January, for the fall production usually in late August.
You can make sure you catch announcements of auditions all over the Cornell community by joining the Cornell email mailing list (listserv) which announces opportunities with various theatre groups in the Cornell community (getcast-l@cornell.edu). For more information about GETCAST, you can browse their website: http://www.rso.cornell.edu/getcast/. You do not need to be affiliated with Cornell University to be on the GETCAST mailing list.

Technical and Production Staff
Do you paint, hammer, glue, sew, lift, saw, run lights, choreograph, design, look good in black, or tell funny jokes? We want you! The Cornell Savoyards puts on two full-fledged productions each year, and for every production we need a an amazing set, advertising, and all of the various technical people with the enthusiasm and skills to put on a musical or operetta. If you have experience in these areas, or you just have an interest and some enthusiasm, please contact us and you can attend our next production meeting to get started.
For more information, please contact us.
The Cornell Savoyards usually appoints several directors for each production. Directorial candidates are interviewed
and appointed by the board and receive an honorarium for their services. Recent productions have
hired a stage director, one
or more music directors, a technical director, and a stage manager. Specific duties of director positions are
outlined in our constitution and by-laws, both of which are available on this website. Please contact us if you are interested in being considered for a director position.
The Cornell Savoyards have used ensembles of various sizes
depending on the show and the performance venue. We always welcome new performers!
Orchestra
members typically receive a small honorarium for their services. Rehearsal accompanists
are also usually needed
and also receive an honorarium. You may always contact us for more information on our current needs.
