The Strategic HR, Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness group (SHRLOE) of the Johnson School and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) at Cornell University will host its 5th annual symposium on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Cornell.
An Opportunity
The event provides an opportunity for business executives, leading academics, and interested students to explore the cutting edge issues in the world of human resources.
A Dialogue
More than a speaker series, “Driving Organizational Change” presents a forum for conversation and debate regarding the current and long-term challenges and opportunities facing leaders engaged in organizational change activity. The symposium will begin with a keynote address by Randy McDonald, SVP of HR at IBM, and will be followed by panel discussions providing an opportunity for business leaders, faculty members, and students to share viewpoints and engage in open dialogue about the complexities that this growing field of business holds. The discussion will also focus on how companies can and have overcome the difficulties surrounding change in their respective organizations. We will discuss the strategies and lessons learned with experts from the field. Panelists will provide insight into how their companies drive, manage, and sustain organizational change. They will speak about critical success factors, risks, and mitigating factors; coordination of consultants and third parties; and change management and communication plan approaches.
