Our History
SHRLOE (pronounced “sure low”) was founded in the fall of 2002 at
Cornell University by students in the School of Industrial and Labor
Relations (ILR) and the Johnson Graduate School of Management.
These individuals saw the need to bring students together to discuss
strategic human resource issues and promote understanding of their
impact on organizational effectiveness. Our name reflects that interest
- SHRLOE stands for the Strategic Human Resources, Leadership, and
Organizational Effectiveness group.
